Consultations are by appointment only and can be booked in many different ways - please see below.
We aim to have a variety of appointments available including:
- Same day urgent appointments
- Pre-bookable 2 and 4 working days ahead
- Pre-bookable 4 weeks ahead with preferred clinician
- Pre-bookable telephone and video consultations
If you feel you need to be seen urgently you will be asked to attend at the next available appointment time or you will be called back by the on-call doctor.
If you feel that telephone advice or a video consultation could save an unnecessary trip to the surgery, please tell the Patient Support Team and we will do our best to arrange this.
Our Patient Support Team have undergone extra training and will ask you some questions in order to access the correct clinician for you. If you feel unable to inform them you will be put on the routine list.
Appointment slots are ten minutes long and are for one medical issue only; if you need a longer appointment for multiple problems please tell the Patient Support Team before you book your appointment.

Whilst we encourage our patients to come to the surgery, where we have the proper equipment and facilities available, we do appreciate this is not always possible. In this respect, if you do need a home visit, you can help us by calling reception before 10:30am.
You may only request a home visit if you are housebound or are too ill to visit the practice. Your GP will only visit you at home if they think that your medical condition requires it and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed. Please bear this in mind and be prepared to provide suitable details to enable the doctor to schedule house calls
You can also be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.
Our Nurse Practitioner is a very experienced nurse who has undergone extensive and additional training to enable her to treat common health problems.
Her role is to see some of the same day urgent cases, which means we can see patients more quickly.
The following complaints can be dealt with by our Nurse Practitioner, who if necessary, will ask the GP to see you as well.
Asthma, COPD flare ups, Chest infection
Cold and Flu symptoms
Sinusitis, Tonsillitis, Sore throat
Diarrhoea and vomiting, Gastroenteritis
Ear infections, Ear pain, Blocked ears
Vaginal discharge, Abnormal menstrual bleeding
Sexual health problems
Skin problems – Such as infected spots, wounds, grazes, rashes, eczema
Urinary tract infections (We will need a urine sample)
Please note that our Nurse Practitioner will see patients over the age of 2 and cannot see pregnant women or deal with mental health problems.
In a number of cases it might be worth considering an appointment with a practice nurse rather than a doctor. Practice nurses are qualified to deal with many conditions and you may be seen more quickly. Apart from during our core hours, we have a small number of appointments available for Practice Nurses during our extended hours surgeries on Monday, Wednesday or Thursday evenings.
We can provide interpreter services if you need them, for most foreign languages and for British Sign Language. If possible, please inform Patient Support at the time of booking your appointment so that this can be arranged in advance.
We also have a hearing loop installed in the reception area, and a portable hearing loop for use during consultations. Please ask at reception about this.
